New Delhi: The universities and medical colleges in Ukraine have been informing the Indian students that in-person classes would resume from next month onwards. Even though the country is still reeling from the deadly war, the universities have decided to resume classes and have made exams mandatory.

The students are being asked to return, promising to ensure their safety. The students say that even though they had written to the universities asking whether they could continue attending online classes for some more time, the authorities haven’t responded yet.

The students who were evacuated from Ukraine after Russia launched an offensive still attend the classes online. However, the students enrolled at various medical colleges in Kiev have been notified that in-person classes would begin from 1 September onwards.

They were also intimated that the exams would be conducted in October. As per the medical education guidelines in Ukraine, third-year medical students should take the KROK 1 exam and the final-year students should attend the KROK 2 exam. As these are the qualifying exams for securing a doctor’s or pharmacist’s license, there is no point in simply attending the classes without passing the KROK exams.
