Ever since the Medical PG entrance dates have been modified, the NEXT (National Exit Exam) exam proposed by the National Medical Commission (NMC) will be delayed.

There were reports that the NEXT will be implemented from 2023 resulting in the withdrawal of NEET PG exams.

But the UGC Medical Board under NMC confirmed that they have no intention of conducting the NEXT exams in the near future. The board made this decision after discussing it with the Indian Medical Association Medical Students Network.

NEXT is the license exam for last year's MBBS students. This also replaces the PG entrance exam and foreign medical graduate exam.
