The academic and administrative affairs of universities, colleges, and affiliated institutions under the Department of Higher Education will now be brought under one roof. For this, the government has decided to introduce a comprehensive software called Kerala Resources for Education Administration and Planning (KREP).

With this, all the facilities required by the students from all the universities and colleges in Kerala will be available through their respective portals. From admissions to examination certificates, the entire academic life is made available through this software. This includes student admission, course progress, student assessment, examination, evaluation, examination result, credit acquisition, transfer, certificate issuance etc.

At present, universities and colleges have implemented their own computer systems for academic and administrative purposes. But all of them work in isolation and are not related to each other thus causing delay. This issue will be solved with the introduction of this new system.

The students will get all the information regarding the course, timetable, attendance, study material, internal marks, and credit from the portal. They can also download grade cards and degree certificates directly from the portal. If you apply after the publication of the exam result, the certificate will be available digitally on the portal immediately.

Teachers can access all job-related material through the teacher portal. Administrative matters will also be a part of this.

A committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Minister of Higher Education with the Principal Secretary of Higher Education as Member Secretary to oversee the implementation of KREP. IT experts from universities are members. The committee met the other day.
