Plus one: 3.67 lakh students get admission so far

Thiruvananthapuram: A total of 3,67,021 students have secured admission for the plus one courses this year. This is based on the data released after completing the admission process based on the first supplementary allotment. One more round of supplementary allotment remains. There are 62,192 vacant seats in the merit, management and unaided quotas. Among this, 34,775 seats are in the unaided schools. Malappuram district topped the list by admitting 56,755 students followed by Kozhikode (37,085) and Thrissur (33,040). Idukki (10,097) and Wayanad (10,319), meanwhile, registered the lowest number of students.

These are the number of students who got admission in various categories: Merit quota – 2,94,563; sports quota – 2336; community quota – 22,047; management quota – 28,245; unaided – 19,830.

Among the 17,638 vacant seats in the merit quota, the highest number is in Kottayam with 3556 seats. However, there are only 932 vacant seats in this category in Malappuram where the number of applicants is the highest. Meanwhile, Kozhikode has 802 vacant seats. In management quota, there are 9779 vacant seats. Among these, Malappuram has the highest number of seats with 1535 vacant seats. The district also has the highest number of vacant seats in unaided schools. 7566 out of 34,775 vacant seats in this category is in Malappuram. Moreover, with 10,033 vacant seats, Malappuram has the greatest number of vacant seats in general.
