Is it possible to add new options in the next round if you do not get admission to the preferred options in the first round? Is it true that some options get cancelled on its own?
New options cannot be added in the second round or in the subsequent rounds. For instance, imagine that you had submitted forty options and you were allowed the sixteenth one. The options from 17 – 40 would get automatically cancelled. However, the options from 1 – 15 would be retained. After paying the fees, you could click the ‘confirm’ button in the home page to rearrange the order of options (1 – 15) or even cancel the unwanted ones.
There aren’t any government / aided colleges close to my home. Even though I have a top spot in the rank list, I do not have the financial capacity to afford the hostel fees at a far away college. Is there any solution?
Some excellent private self management colleges offer fee relaxation for students who have high rank in entrance exam and for plus two. Meanwhile, some other private colleges offer scholarships for academically brilliant students. The details of these are available in the websites of the colleges.
I wish to study electronics engineering. But in the prospectus, there are many branches that have the word electronics. Which one should I choose?
In the Kerala engineering entrance, the word electronics could be seen in the following five branches:
Electrical and Electronics
Electronics and Communication
Applied Electronics and Instrumentation
Electronics and Instrumentation
Electronics and Biomedical Engineering
Many end up in the wrong branch as they do not have proper idea about each branch of study. Electrical and Electronics is mainly electrical engineering. The production of electricity and its conductivity could be learned in this stream. However, those who wish to study the mainstream electronics should choose Electronics and Communication. This stream has incredible scope in the job market. Even though electronics would be taught in streams 3 and 4, focus would be on instrumentation. Meanwhile, the 5th program focuses on the application of electronics and related technology in diagnosis and treatment in the medical field.
There are courses like Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Data Science in the list of courses. What is their scope?
There new generation courses are likely to have amazing scope in the coming days. Many courses which were earlier offered in the post graduate level are now being offered in the graduate level too. Keep in mind that Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security are usually chosen as specializations of the main subject Computer Science and Engineering. Those who study computer science can not only succeed in these specializations but also try their hands in fields like machine learning, cloud computing, information systems, software engineering, computer – human interface, UI/UX design and malware analysis.
