Kollam: The Sree Narayana Guru Open University will publish the notification inviting applications for admission to the courses that have got the approval of University Grants Commission, on October 1. November 15 will be the last date of admission. The authorities said that the classes are likely to begin by the end of November. BA (Malayalam, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Arabic) and MA (Malayalam and English) courses have UGC’s approval.
Online classrooms and more than fifty learning centres have been arranged on the campuses. Besides the university headquarters, there are centres in Ernakulam, Pattambi, Kozhikode and Kannur too.
BA (History, Economics, Sociology, Philosophy), BCom, BCA, Business Studies and MA (History and Sociology) and MCom courses too are expected to get approval soon. Meanwhile, the interview to appoint full-time heads for the departments of Social Science, Informatics and Communication, and Law and Business Studies would be held on 1 October.
The authorities hope that the UGC would grant approval for these schools too if they are informed about the details of the interview.
