Thiruvananthapuram: The decision to postpone the first-year higher secondary and vocational higher secondary improvement exams at the last moment, citing the school parliament election, has upset students and teachers.

The exams that were scheduled on 28 October has now been pushed to 31 October. Physics, Economics and English exams have been postponed.

However, higher secondary students and teachers aren’t happy about this decision and have been expressing their displeasure.

They say that instead of postponing an exam scheduled earlier, the school parliament elections could have been organised on a later date.

Teachers observed that the students who are supposed to write the exam on the 31st will not take part in the election that will be held on 28 October.

Teachers allege that the authorities of the Department of General Education have been taking impractical decisions without consulting with them.
