K-TET next month, apply online before Nov 7

Online applications are invited for the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K–TET). Those who aspire for a teaching career in schools in Kerala may submit applications from October 25 to November 7 on the website ktet.kerala.gov.in.

K–TET is an eligibility exam for getting appointed as teachers in the schools that has the approval of the Department of General Education. Candidates should note that K-TET qualification would not guarantee appointment as teacher.

There is no age limit for the applicants. However, guidelines regarding age and other academic qualifications would be considered during appointment.

The test would be held for four categories: 1. Lower Primary 2. Upper Primary 3. High School and 4. Language teachers (Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu – until UP) and Specialists (Art and Craft, Sports).

Dates
The tests for the first two categories have been scheduled on 26 November. The tests for the other two categories are on 27 November.

Question pattern
The 150-minute test will have 150 multiple choice questions. The candidates need to score at least 60% marks to clear the K–TET. Scheduled Caste/Tribe candidates require 55% and persons with disabilities need 50% marks to qualify.

How to apply
Single application is enough to write the exam in more than one category. However, Rs 500 should be paid as application fee for each category. Meanwhile, it is Rs 250 for Scheduled Caste/Tribe candidates and persons with disabilities.

The aspirants cannot apply to more than one district.

The printed copy of the online application could be kept for future reference; the copies could be printed until 8 November. The number on the application is required to download the hall ticket. The printed application or the copies of the documents need not be sent via post.
