KILA: Apply now for 3 PG programmes at the Thaliparamba centre

The Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA) is an autonomous institute that functions under the aegis of the department of local self-government. Online applications are invited for admission to three PG programmes at the new Institute of Public Policy and Leadership in Thaliparamba. The last date of application is November 21.

The courses include:

1. MA in Decentralisation and Local Governance.

2. MA in Public Policy and Development

3. MA in Social Entrepreneurship and Development

There are up to 15 seats in each category. The application fee for the courses that have four semesters is Rs 450. Meanwhile, candidates of scheduled categories and persons with disabilities need to pay Rs 270. The application fee too could be paid online.

Those who have graduated in any subject with at least 50% marks or equivalent grades can apply. Candidates of backward communities and Other Eligible Communities need 45% marks. However, the candidates of scheduled categories only need to pass the eligibility exam.

The entrance test is scheduled on December 10. Those who excel in this test will be invited for an interview that would be held at the Thaliparamba centre. The semester fee is Rs 5000. Besides, Rs 2000 should be paid in the beginning. Hostel facilities are also available for the students.

The monthly charges for food and accommodation would be Rs 3500. The classes are scheduled to begin on December 19. Kannur University will be conducting the exams and awarding the degrees.

Moreover, the centre will help successful students find job placements. After the first two batches, the semester fee would be raised to Rs 15,000. www.kila.ac.in.
