Applications will be accepted till November 30 for two programmes being conducted by the National Coir Training and Design Centre of the Coir Board, a Central government entity, at Kalavoor in Alappuzha.
» Diploma in Advanced Coir Technology: Classroom study for one year and internship for three months. Those who have passed Plus Two are eligible for the course. Classes will begin on February 1.
» Certificate Course in Coir Technology for Artisans: Classroom study for six months and internship for one month. Candidates should know how to read and write. Classes will begin on January 2.
Eligibility
Preference will be given to those who have secured scholarships. Age limit – 18 to 50. A stipend of Rs 3,000 will be paid per month. Hostel facilities are available for female candidates. An amount of Rs 500 per month will be paid to males who will have to find accommodation outside.
