The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru, which is among the most reputed science and technology institutions in the world, has invited applications for its post-graduate and PhD programmes starting in August this year.
Those interested can submit their applications till 11.59 pm on March 23. The website to apply online is www.iisc.ac.in/admissions.
Final-semester/year students completing their course by July 31 this year and can submit certificates on or before October 31 also may apply.
The application fee is Rs 800. The fee for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and differently-abled applicants is Rs 400. All applicants have to pay an amount of Rs 2,000 for external registration of PhD/ M Tech by Research programmes.
Those who have any one among the following qualifications can apply: BTech, BPharm, Four-year BS, MBBS, MSc, MS, MA, MCom, MBA, MTech, MArch, MD, MDS, MPharm, MVSc, Pharm D or AMIE.
Reservation is available for applicants belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and those who are differently abled.

Selection process
Various programmes at IISC have different selection methods. There are even programmes in which candidates with second-lass qualification can apply. However, they should have scored high marks to get selected.
The criteria applied for preparing the rank-list for selection are:
• Marks secured in qualifying exam: valid score as of August 1, 2023 in national exams such as CSIR-UGC NET–JRF/UGC NET–JRF/GATE/ICMR–JRF/DBT-JRF/JEST/NBHM/GPAT/JGEEBILS/JAM/INSPIRE, and
• Performance in the interview
