M Pharm courses in Kerala: Registration closes on 10 April

The allopathic drug industry has registered meteoric growth in recent years. M Pharm is an amazing higher education program that opens great opportunities to the management, research and teaching branches in the field of pharmacy science. Those who are interested in this field can pursue career options in quality control, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmaco informatics, pharmacology, regulatory toxicology, clinical research, regulatory affairs and export of drugs. Besides PhD courses, they can opt for higher studies in management and law related to pharmacy sciences, after completing the M Pharm course.

Those who wish to register for the four semester-long M Pharm program (2023 – 24) in Kerala can do that until 3 pm on 10 April by logging into the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in. The selection would be based on the GPAT score conducted by the National Testing Agency – https://gpat.nta.nic.in.

The selected candidates can study the course at the three government pharmacy colleges in Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Kannur and at the twenty five private and self financing colleges. There are 93 government seats and 307 seats in the private sector. The government – private seats have been divided in the following way: 2/27 for pharmaceutical analysis, 10/49 for pharmaceutical chemistry, 30/119 for pharmaceutics, 11/0 for pharmacognosy, 22/33 for pharmacology, 18/61 for pharmacy practise and 0/18 for pharmacognosy and phyto chemistry.

There might be slight changes in the college/ seats. In the private colleges, half of the seats are government quota and the remaining are management quota. Admission would be given to Indian citizens who have their roots in Kerala. They should have scored at least 55% marks for the second, third and fourth-year B Pharm exams. The same guidelines are applicable in the service quota too. Meanwhile, those who belong to the scheduled categories or have at least five years of professional experience after passing B Pharm need 50% marks. The candidates who do not have the registration of the Pharmacy Council of India should get the registration within one month after securing admission. There is no upper age limit for applying. But, those who secure admission in the service quota should at least have five years of experience.

Special reservations are available for those who are working in special government sectors, candidates of scheduled categories and persons with disabilities.

Refer the prospectus in the website to know more about the application process. There is an application fees of Rs 600; it is Rs 300 for candidates belonging to the scheduled categories. Besides, there are special guidelines for application to the service quota seats. The annual fees at government colleges is Rs 29,230. The candidates need to pay a deposit of Rs 5520 too.
