PG, PhD programs in KUFOS: Apply before 22 April

Programs
A) MFSC (9 branches): Aqua Culture, Aquatic Animal Health Management, Aquatic Environment Management, Fish Nutrition and Feed Technology, Fishing Technology and Engineering, Fisheries Extension, Fisheries Resource Management, Fish Genetics and Breeding are the courses offered in these branches.
B) MSC (12 branches): Applied Geology, Biotechnology, Climate Science, Disaster Management, Environment Sciences, Food Science and Technology, Marine Biology, Marine Chemistry, Marine Microbiology, Physical Oceanography, Remote Sensing and GIS and Statistics.
C) MBA: Dual Specialization (Finance/ Marketing/ Human Resource Management) is available. The admission is based on KMAT/CMAT/ IIM CAT scores.
D) MTech (2 branches): Coastal and Harbour Engineering, Ocean and Coastal Safety Engineering.
E) PhD: Research programs are available in four faculties. Fisheries Science (admission is via ICAR AICE – JRF/SRF, PhD 2023), Ocean Science and Technology, Fisheries Management, Fisheries Engineering.
Applications aren’t currently invited for post doctoral, bachelor, diploma and post diploma programs.

Points to note
Final year students too can apply. The online applications could be submitted until 22 April. The printed copy of the application need not be sent via post; however, it has to be produced at the time of admission. The entrance exam for admission to the Post Graduate courses would be held on 28 May at all the main cities in Kerala.

The results would be published on 5 June. Meanwhile, the admission process to the PG courses would be held from 26 – 30 June.

The entrance test for the PhD programs has been scheduled on 31 July. The applicants must note that the only test centre for this is at Kochi. The results of this exam would be out on 10 August. The group discussion and interview rounds for the MBA courses would be held from 12 – 16 June.

The candidates belonging to the Scheduled categories in Kerala would get a 5 % relaxation in the minimum marks criterion. The reservation guidelines for the professional colleges under the Kerala government would be followed during the admission.

20% seats are specially reserved in each program for the wards of fisher folk in Kerala. Besides, reservations are available for persons with disabilities, sports quota, residents of Lakshadweep, children of ex – service personnel and children of those who lost their lives while serving in the defence forces. Two additional seats in each program have been allowed for NRI, Persons of Indian Origin and Overseas Citizen of India.

The application fees is Rs 1500. Meanwhile, those who belong to the scheduled categories in Kerala need to pay Rs 750. However, those who are applying for the seats that are specially reserved for NRI should pay an additional amount of Rs 5500.
