Become a pilot! Those seeking admission to the Commercial Pilot Licence course conducted by the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA) in Uttar Pradesh can submit applications online till April 23.
As part of the 24 month-long course held at the Fursatganj Airfield at Raebareli in Amethi district training will be provided under three categories: Students Pilot licence, Private Pilot licence, and Commercial Pilot licence. Women too can apply.
Eligibility
Candidates should have passed Plus Two or equivalent, with a minimum 50% marks in English, Mathematics, and Physics to be eligible to apply for the ‘Ab initio to CPL’ (Commercial Pilot License that includes Multi-engine endorsement and Instrument Rating) programme. However, those belonging to SC/ST/EWS/OBC categories need to score only 45% marks in the individual subjects.
The candidates should have obtained a minimum of 17 years of age while joining the course. The maximum age should not cross 28 years. However, it is 31 for OBC and 33 years for SC/ST candidates. They should be unmarried and have a minimum height of 158 cm. Good health is mandatory.
Number of seats
The total number of seats available for the course is 125, which includes 75 reserved for SC/ST/EWS/OBC categories.
The admission is granted in four batches at an interval of three months. The first batch of classes will start on August 2023.
BSc Aviation Degree
Those interested can simultaneously pursue a three-year BSc Aviation Degree course too. There are 40 seats for this course. As part of the selection, the candidates need to appear for a written test, pilot aptitude/psychometric test, and interview.
Entrance test
The online written test will be held on May 14 (Sunday). The entrance test will be held at 18 centres, including Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi.
Those selected from the written test will be called for the interviews/viva and Pilot Aptitude Test from June 27 onwards. The same will be held at Rae Bareli.
