14 Ayurveda PhD programmes at NIA; check out research topics, application details here

The National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) in Jaipur has invited applications for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) admission to 14 programmes run by it. Interested candidates can submit the same till April 25 through the website www.nia.nic.in.

Two separate universities award PhD for the same research — a practice called the Cotutelle method. As per this, the NIA and the Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (ACSIR), functioning adjunct to the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), will award separate PhDs.

The research topics are Agatha tantra, Ayurveda Samhitha and Sidhanta, Dravyaguna Vignana, Kaumarabritya, Kaya Chikitsa, Kriya Sareeram, Panchakarma, Prasoothithanthra and Women’s Diseases, Rachana Sareeram, Rasa Sastra and Bhaishjya Kalpana, Disease Cause and Vikrithi Vijnana, Salakyatantra, Salyatantra, Swastha Vritha, and Yoga.

Admission is provided in two ways: (1) Through Entrance test and Interview. (2) Those who have qualified UGC-NET/JRF/SLET/AYUSH-NET/CSIR-NET need to appear only for the interview.

Application fee: Rs 3,000. Applicants from the Scheduled Caste/Tribe and differently abled categories need to pay Rs 2,500 only. They are eligible for fellowships too. The NIA is under the under the Union Ministry of AYUSH.
