KEAM: 440 UAE candidates set to appear at the sole test centre in Dubai

Abu Dhabi/ Dubai: A total of 440 candidates based in the United Arab Emirates have registered for the Kerala Engineering, Architecture and Medical Entrance (KEAM) test which will be conducted on May 17.

The only exam centre in the UAE is the New Indian Model School (NIMS) in Dubai.

The Physics and Chemistry papers will be conducted from 8:30 am to 11 am and the Mathematics test from 1 pm to 3:30 pm, both UAE time.

Nitin Suresh, the coordinator of the UAE examinations, told Manorama that the permission of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) of Dubai had been obtained for conducting the tests in the UAE. The KHDA has directed that special arrangements should be made to ensure that the classes of the regular students are not affected and that the candidates must enter and leave the halls through a separate way.

KEAM is conducted only for admission to Engineering, Architecture and Pharmacy courses in Kerala. Admission for medical courses in Kerala are based on the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET (UG).

Six-member team from Kerala in UAE

A six-member team under the leadership of the IT Mission Director Anu Kumari will reach the UAE on May 15 in order to ensure the smooth conduct of the entrance tests and their supervision. The other members of the team are V S Anilkumar, C R Gopakumar, S Sabitha, R Taranath, and T R Pratheesh. They will remain in the UAE till May 18.
