Kochi: The Kerala High Court has directed the Education Department Secretary to consider the petition submitted to the Education Minister, seeking to publish the marks along with the results of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination.

While directing to take a decision on the petition at the earliest, the court also clarified that this order would not be a hindrance in announcing the results.

Justice A Badharudeen gave the directive, while considering a plea by Kozhikode native K K Shijin, the father of a student who wrote this year's exam and is awaiting the results.

However, the government lawyer pointed out that this is part of the policy decision and if the demand is allowed at this juncture, the SSLC results would be delayed and would affect the future of thousands of students.

The court said that, if possible, the Minister should consider the petition, while following the lawful procedures, before the announcement of results. The results of the SSLC exam is expected later this month.
