Thiruvananthapuram: Applications are invited for admission to the regular diploma courses in the polytechnic colleges for the year 2023 – 24. The online applications could be submitted from 14 June onwards. The last date for application is 30 June. This would be a state-level admission process to all the government, aided, IHRD, CAPE and management polytechnics.

Those who have passed SSLC/ THSLC/ class ten CBSE and other equivalent qualifying exams are eligible to apply. Meanwhile, the candidates who have studied Maths, Science and English as the core subjects could apply for Engineering stream (stream 1). Meanwhile, those who have opted for Maths and English can choose the non – engineering stream (stream 2).

The online admission would be to all the seats in the government/ IHRD/ CAPE polytechnics, 85% seats in aided polytechnics and 50% government seats in the management colleges.

Reservations of up to 10% and 2% are available for applicants who have passed THSLC and VHSE respectively. Meanwhile, those who have passed VHSE can select the branches that match their respective trade.

5% of seats are reserved for persons with disabilities.

Besides, reservation benefits, based on government guidelines, are available for candidates of Scheduled Caste/ Tribe and Other Eligible Categories. Meanwhile, a 10% reservation is allowed for economically backward candidates who belong to upper castes.

There will be an application fee of Rs 200 for the general category and Rs 100 for the Scheduled Caste/ Tribe candidates. Before submitting the application, the aspirants should log into the website www.polyadmission.org to do a one-time registration. After completing the one-time registration, applications could be submitted to the government/ aided/ IHRD/ CAPE colleges and to the NCC/ sports quotas.

A copy of the online application should be submitted to the directorate of NCC and to the sports council respectively. Meanwhile, those who wish to apply to management seats in private management colleges and government-aided polytechnics should submit online applications to the respective colleges.

Index score
The index score for selection to the stream 1 course would be calculated on the basis of the marks scored for Maths and Science in SSLC. Meanwhile, the marks of Maths and English would be considered for selection to stream 2 courses.
