Women who aspire a career as a commissioned officer in the medical wing of the defence forces can now apply for the military nursing course.

The four-year BSc Nursing course is completely free of cost and a monthly stipend too would be provided. The online application should be submitted before July 4.

Selection process
The primary selection would be based on the NEET 2023 score. The final ranking would be determined based on the NEET score, the candidate’s performance in the computer-based test, psychological assessment and interview.

Those who have a sports background and the wards of serving soldiers have special weightage. Unmarried women, widows without any issues/divorcees would be considered for the admission.

Test pattern
The 30-minute test will have 40 multiple-choice questions for a total of 80 marks. Marks will be reduced for the wrong answers. Expect questions from general knowledge and current affairs in the interview round.

Eligibility
The applicants should have passed Plus Two with 50% marks in the first chance itself. Besides, they should have studied Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English as the core subjects.

There is no marks relaxation for any category.

Age limit
Applicants should not be born before October 1, 1998 or after September 30, 2006. They should at least be 152 cm tall and should be healthy as per the military standards. Moreover, they should pass the physical examination of the special medical board.

Those who are below 18 years need to be 150 cm tall.

Total seats
There are a total of 220 seats up for grabs at the nursing colleges that are part of the military hospitals in Pune (40 seats), Kolkata (30 seats), Mumbai (40 seats), Lucknow (40) and Bengaluru (40).

The candidates should sign a contract stating that they would serve in the military nursing service after completing the course.
