Thiruvananthapuram: The higher secondary Plus-One admission based on the second supplementary allotment list has commenced. The allotments are for seats in both Higher Secondary Education (HSE) and Vocational Higher Secondary Education (VHSE) schools.

Applicants who have been allotted seats should secure admissions on Monday (July 24) and Tuesday (July 25) between 10 am and 4 pm.

The allotment list, which was published on Sunday, is available on the website of the General Education Department. A total of 24,218 applications were considered for the second supplementary allotment to the remaining 19,340 seats. Of this, 6,791 candidates have got admission.

Many vacancies

A total of 12,549 Plus-One seats still remain in the state. A large number of seats are remaining vacant as there are no takers for them.

In Malappuram district, 9,707 candidates have applied for 1,392 seats. Of this, 1,369 candidates got admission. A total of 23 seats remain vacant here.

Of the 3,208 applicants in Kozhikode, 989 have got admission while in Palakkad, only 820 out of 3,908 applicants have got admission.

Preliminary discussions were held the other day by the authorities for starting temporary batches and extra seats for students who haven’t got admission so far. An announcement in this regard can be expected after the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
