Homeo MD admissions: Apply by 5 pm tomorrow

Online applications can be submitted until 5 pm on October 7 (Saturday) for admission to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) courses at the Government Homeopathic Medical Colleges in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.

The applications can be submitted on the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in. The application fee is Rs 900. However, those belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe category need to remit only Rs 450.

The applicants, including the service quota candidates, should have passed the Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) and qualified for the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET-2023).

The general category candidates should have obtained 50 percent marks in the entrance examination, while those belonging to scheduled and backward classes should have scored 40 percent and the disabled category candidates 45 percent, respectively. Their names should also be on the rank list prepared by the Entrance Exam Commissioner.

Such candidates need to complete their 12-month internship, at least, by October 31, and submit the certificates to the colleges where they were allotted admission by November 6. There is no upper age limit.

The course duration is three years, including the one-year house surgency. Materia Medica, Homeopathic Philosophy, Repertory, and Practice of Medicine are the four subjects of study.

A total of 58 seats are available across both colleges. Of this, nine are All India Quota seats. The admissions process is done for the remaining 49 seats. Twenty-three seats have been set aside for Indian nationals of Kerala origin and those who have passed out of homeopathy colleges in Kerala.

The annual tuition fee is Rs 10,500, exclusive of other fees. Students belonging to eligible caste categories will get fee concessions. All students will also get a monthly stipend at the rate fixed by the government. Hostel facilities will be provided, subject to availability.
