JEE (Advanced): Exam to be held on May 26; online registration from April 21

The schedule of the upcoming JEE (Advanced), the common entrance exam which leads to admissions in IITs and some other top science, engineering and technology educational institutions in the country, has been announced. There are 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in India, including one at Palakkad in Kerala. The exam will take place on May 26. The website is https://jeeadv.ac.in

The schedule
Online registration: April 21-30, 2024
Payment of fees: Till May 6
Downloading of admit cards: May 17-26
Selection of scribes by differently-abled candidates: May 25
JEE Advanced exam: May 26; Paper 1: 9 am to 12 pm; Paper 2: 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
Copy of the answer-papers will be uploaded on the website on May 31
Provisional answer key on website: June 2
Submission of responses to answer key: June 2, 3
Publication of final answer key and results: June 9
Registration for AAT 2024 (Architecture Aptitude Test): June 9, 10
Start date for counselling by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority): June 10
Aptitude test for architecture: June 12; 9 am to 12 pm.
Results of Architecture Aptitude Test: June 15.

Programmes at IITs
The following programmes are offered by IITs, which are considered the premier educational and research institutions in the country in the fields of engineering and technology:
BTech / BS: Four years.
BArch: Five years
Dual BTech -MTech / Dual BS – MS: Five years. Students earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees
Integrated MTech / MSc: Five years
Integrated M Tech / MSc: Five years
BTech (Honours) / BTech with Minor are also offered by some IITs.

Things to note
Only candidates who have secured the top 2,50,000 ranks in various categories in the BE / BTech paper in JEE (Main) 2024 can appear for JEE (Advanced) 2024. Some IITs offer BArch programme also. Candidates who gain eligibility in JEE (Advanced) can attempt AAT 2024, if interested.

Other institutions
The following institutions also conduct admissions based on JEE (Advanced) scores: Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru; seven IISERs, including Thiruvananthapuram and the Petroleum Institutes at Raebareli and Visakhapatnam. Candidates will have to check the websites of these institutions for admission details.
