SSC announces 2,049 Central Government vacancies: Apply by March 18

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a notification inviting applications to fill 2,049 vacancies across 489 posts within various Ministries, Departments, and offices of the Central Government. Among these, 71 vacancies are designated for the Kerala-Karnataka region.

Interested candidates can submit their applications until March 18.

Eligibility criteria
Candidates with SSLC (Class 10), Plus Two (Class 12), and bachelor's degrees are eligible to apply. Detailed eligibility requirements are outlined on the SSC website.

Age limit
Specific age limits are set for each post. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Tribe (SC/ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and differently-abled categories. Application fee
An application fee of Rs 100 is applicable. However, women, SC/ST, differently-abled, and ex-service personnel are exempted from paying the fee.

Selection process
Candidates will be selected based on a computer-based objective test. Separate exams will be conducted for each post. Detailed information regarding the selection process is available on the website.

Application procedure
Online applications can be submitted through the website https://ssc.gov.in. After one-time online registration, candidates can fill out their application forms by accessing the link 'Phase – XII/2024/Selection Post Examination' on the website. It is crucial for candidates to safely preserve their registration ID and password for future SSC exams. Additionally, a printed copy of the application form should be retained.

Candidates must produce self-attested copies of their qualifying certificates at the specified time determined by SSC authorities.

Vacancies in Kerala-Karnataka Region
Various vacancies are available for candidates with different educational qualifications, ranging from degree holders to those with Class 10 qualifications. Specific vacancies include Girl Cadet Instructor, Laboratory Assistant, and Staff Car Driver, among others.

Exam centres in Kerala, along with their respective codes, include Ernakulam (9213), Kannur (9202), and Kollam (9210), among others.

Candidates applying for SSC selection posts should utilize the new website launched on February 17: https://ssc.gov.in. Fresh registration is required on the new website for those who previously registered on the old website https://ssc.nic.in. Applications made on the old website will not be considered for upcoming SSC exams.
