Thiruvananthapuram; A meeting of the Kerala State School Curriculum Steering Committee is set to be held on Tuesday to approve the 128 revised textbooks prepared for Classes 2, 4, 6, and 8 in schools following the Kerala syllabus. These revised textbooks will be introduced from the next academic year onwards.

The updated textbooks for Classes 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 were implemented in the previous academic year, and the forthcoming editions for the remaining classes are a continuation of this process. This rollout will also mark the completion of a long-awaited curriculum revamp undertaken after a decade.

Last month, the committee approved 77 new textbooks for Class 10, which also included illustrations drawn by differently-abled students.

Over 1,000 teachers were involved in the meticulous process of revising these textbooks. Education Minister V. Sivankutty , who is the chairman of the committee, announced that their remuneration and travel allowances would be disbursed shortly.
