Kozhikode: Deepniya D B, a native of Avala Kuttothu near Perambra, has emerged as the top scorer from the state in the NEET (UG) examination, securing an All-India Rank (AIR) of 109. She scored 643 marks in the medical entrance test.

A former student of Government Higher Secondary School, Avala Kuttothu, Deepniya passed her higher secondary examination last year with a remarkable score of 1199 marks.

Deepniya is the daughter of a teacher couple, Dineshan Pallikkal Meethal and M. P. Biji. Speaking about her future plans, her father said she is considering joining JIPMER, Puducherry, where she hopes to pursue a research-oriented course.
