NEET UG 2025: What to remember for admission

Mail This Article
With the NEET UG 2025 results now released, it’s important to note that the highest score this year is 686. In previous years, several candidates had secured a perfect 720/720. Therefore, drawing comparisons between scores across years to predict admissions is not advisable. A more reliable method is to assess a candidate’s All India Rank.
The NEET route
Admission to undergraduate medical courses such as MBBS and BDS in all approved institutions across India, including AIIMS, JIPMER, and other central institutions under the All India Quota (AIQ), state quota and Ayush, etc, based solely on NEET scores. This also applies to seats under the NRI and management quotas in private, aided, and unaided, aided minority and non-minority institutions.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) handles counselling for AIQ seats. NEET scores are also used for selection to All India Quota seats in Veterinary Science, BSc Nursing in Armed Forces Medical Service (AFMS), Admission to Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), where the top 1,600 male and 400 female NEET applicants are invited for further selection rounds and Certain institutions offering BSc (Hons) Nursing.
Also note that admission to agriculture and allied courses under the AIQ is not based on NEET. These programmes use the CUET-ICAR-UG Entrance Exam instead.
Admission in Kerala
The Kerala Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) will publish a state-level rank list based on the All India NEET Rank.
