Actor Vijay's Bigil has set the box office on fire. Bigil has crossed Rs 100 crore in worldwide box office collection within three days of its release. The movie was released on Friday for the Diwali weekend.
Bigil was released in around 4,200 screens across the worldwide. In Kerala, it released in approximately 308-310 screens. Not just in Tamil Nadu, Bigil is dominating the Kerala box office as well by grossing Rs 4.80 crore on opening day itself. With this, the Vijay movie has set a new record for a Tamil film in Kerala.
This is an incredible feat for a film that is produced on a huge budget of Rs 180 crore by Kalpathi S Aghoram under their banner AGS Entertainments.
Earlier, just a day before its release, Tamil Nadu Government refused to give permission to screen early morning shows. However, the producer AGS Entertainment and theatre owners managed to obtain permission in the last minute.
The sports-drama directed by Atlee has been receiving mixed response from both critics and movie audience.
