According to media reports, Atlee initially aimed to collaborate with Telugu superstar Allu Arjun.
Chiranjeevi, Boney Kapoor, Janhvi and A R Rahman were also the other guests at Aishwarya's function.
Some questioned the need for Atlee's action, suggesting he should have shown respect to a South Indian director instead.
During a conversation on a YouTube channel, Atlee disclosed details about the collaboration, emphasizing an encounter in Chennai during the shoot of the 'Zinda Banda' song.
‘Jawan’, an action thriller, also features Sanya Malhotra, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Deepika Padukone.
The actor also narrated an incident when he decided that Deepika should be a part of the film.
SRK’s production house Red Chilies Entertainment which produced ‘Jawan’, wished the director and wrote on their X: “Happy Birthday to the powerhouse director, @Atlee_dir!”
In the meantime, 'Jawan' continues to make waves at the box office, grossing Rs 900 crore globally in less than two weeks, with Rs 500 crore earned in India alone.
The movie, which enjoyed massive pre-opening hype, faced an implausible negative online campaign with some critics going to the extent of calling the film 'crap' and 'unbearable'.
The film, which also stars Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist, released on September 7 and opened to a massive Rs 75 crore net in India, worldwide it grossed over Rs 150 crore on Day 1.
