The much-awaited film 'Cobra' starring Vikram was released in theatres worldwide on August 31. The movie is considered to be Vikram's most ambitious film to date and has the veteran actor playing 20 different avatars.

Vikram plays a genius mathematician in the movie, which revolves around a series of assassinations of leaders across the globe.

Though many have praised the actor's performance, the movie has been receiving mixed reviews, with viewers pointing out that the film is convoluted with its myriad subplots. Many have complained that the movie is too lengthy and could have been better had director R Ajay Gnanamuthu trimmed it a bit.

Some netizens said the film lacks emotional depth and the chemistry between Srinidhi Shetty, who plays the female lead, and Vikram failed to work onscreen.

Based on the feedback, the makers have trimmed the film by 20 minutes. "Cobra is now trimmed by 20 minutes as suggested by film-goers, fans, media friends, distributors, and exhibitors. Now watch the trimmed version of Cobra from this evening in all shows across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala," wrote the makers.

Though we are not sure which scenes were axed from the film, there is a possibility that a few romantic scenes were left at the editing table.
