The much-anticipated Drishyam 3 officially went on the floors in Ernakulam on Monday. Superstar Mohanlal, who is this year’s recipient of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, attended the pooja ceremony. The actor told the media that he would be traveling to Delhi post-noon, to attend the 71st National Film Awards ceremony, which will be held on Tuesday. Fans are eagerly awaiting the new installment, especially since the first two films centered around a deadly secret within the family.

According to director Jeethu Joseph, this time the focus will be entirely on the family dynamics. “In the previous two films, the story involved two families — Georgekutty’s and Inspector General of Police Geetha Prabhakar’s. This installment will delve into what happens within the family after 4.5 years,” he explained.

Before filming began, Jeethu also hinted at significant changes within the family, as the children have grown up, adding new layers to the narrative. Speaking to the media, the director expressed his confidence in the film, describing it not as a thriller, but as a heartfelt family drama. He urged audiences to keep their expectations grounded and clarified that he did not intend for this film to overshadow the previous two installments.

Jeethu also expressed his joy in being part of a project featuring the Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner Mohanlal. “He truly deserves this award in every way. We are all proud of him,” he said.
