Actor Vijay Deverakonda has responded to reports about his recent car accident, assuring fans that he is safe and doing well. Taking to his Instagram Stories, he shared that there was no cause for concern.
"All is well (red heart emoji) Car took a hit, but we are all fine. Went and did a strength workout as well, and just got back home. My head hurts but nothing a biryani and sleep will not fix. So, biggest hugs and my love to all of you. Don't let the news stress you. (Hug and red heart emoji)," Vijay wrote on Instagram.
According to reports, the Arjun Reddy star had travelled to Puttaparthi with his family to visit Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Maha Samadhi when the incident occurred. The accident reportedly happened on the Hyderabad–Bengaluru Highway in Telangana’s Jogulamba Gadwal district while the family was returning to Hyderabad.
As per initial findings, Vijay’s Lexus LM350 was struck from behind by another vehicle that sped away after the collision. Fortunately, the actor escaped unhurt and is said to have switched to a friend’s car to continue his journey to Hyderabad.
His driver has filed a complaint against the unidentified driver, and police have launched an investigation into the matter.
A photo of Vijay with Sathya Sai Baba also went viral on social media, where fans were quick to spot what appeared to be an engagement ring on his finger. Speculation has been rife that Vijay recently got engaged to his long-time girlfriend, actress Rashmika Mandanna, in a private ceremony. Although the couple has not confirmed the news, rumours suggest that their wedding might take place in February next year.
