With the verdict in the actress sexual assault case clearing Dileep of all charges, film bodies that had expelled him after his name surfaced in the conspiracy are now considering reinstating him. FEFKA, among other organisations, has indicated that discussions are underway regarding his possible return.

According to FEFKA general secretary B Unnikrishnan, the association will consider taking Dileep back since the court has acquitted him. However, he did not specify whether the association is in favour of or against the court’s verdict.

“The association has always maintained a strong stand whenever a member is accused in a case. We have suspended people in cases like drug deals and we took a similar stand in the actress assault case. Now, the court has acquitted Dileep and there are no technical grounds to deny his return,” he said.

Unnikrishnan added that it is Dileep’s right to continue in cinema now that the court has given its verdict. “We have not yet asked Dileep if he wants to return to the association. If he submits a letter, we will convene a committee and take a decision,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Producers Association president wholeheartedly accepted the court verdict, maintaining that he was quite sure of Dileep’s innocence. He added that he also stands by the survivor and that she has received justice since the court has found the other accused guilty. “We are willing to welcome him back to the association,” he said.
