'Ponniyin Selvan: 2' gears up for global release with new song 'Veera Raja Veera'

Mumbai: Mani Ratnam magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan: 2' is gearing up for release and the film's makers have shared the second song titled 'Veera Raja Veera'frm the film.

Oscar- and Grammy-winning composer A R Rahman has composed the track, which is picturised on Karthi, Trisha, and Shobita Dhulipala against the backdrop of warships sailing across the high seas. It is based on a traditional Shiva Stuti in Raag Adaana of the Dagar vani tradition of Dhrupad.

'Ponniyin Selvan: 2', the sequel to 'PS-1' which was 2022's highest-grossing Tamil film, is helmed by the National Award-winning maker of classic hits Mani Ratnam.

Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's timeless Tamil novel, 'Ponniyin Selvan', the film will be released in cinemas worldwide on April 28 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
