Though arrangements were made to make Kerala food, Aleida Guevara chose continental breakfast.

Aluva: Aroma of Spanish dishes wafted across the Aluva Palace on Friday, as the government guest house prepared breakfast for Che Guevara’s daughter Aleida Guevara. Guest house employees searched YouTube for recipes since it was their first time cooking Spanish delicacies. They spoke with Aleida using Google Translator!

Aleida, who only speaks Spanish, reached Aluva at 2am. The translator's delayed arrival from Thiruvananthapuram meant that employees had to use Google to talk to Aleida. Their conversations were translated from Spanish to English, and back.

Arrangements were made to cook continental and local flavours without spice. Puttu, Kadala curry, Idiyappam and stew were on the menu. But Aleida chose continental breakfast. She had Spanish omelet – with potato and cheese, grilled tomato, pomegranate juice, boiled eggs, lemon tea, cashew nuts, dates, apple and papaya. She left for a press conference in Angamaly and had lunch from a restaurant there. She returned to Palace and left for Kochi. Aleida unveiled the logo of state youth commission.
