Unhealthy eating habits and a lazy lifestyle is often the reason behind obesity and other lifestyle diseases. You could lead a healthy life by properly planning the meals in a day. Noted nutritionist Loveneet Batra, in her recent Instagram post, shares a few healthy options for breakfast that could help you maintain appropriate body weight while nourishing the body with essential nutrients.

Loveneet says that one should begin their day by eating a filling breakfast that is loaded with protein. She suggests that the first meal of the day should contain at least 20-25 grams of protein. What you eat in the morning is vital in controlling the entire day’s appetite. The protein rich food in the morning would make your stomach feel full and keeps you away from munching on unhealthy snacks through out the day.

Soya beans, pumpkin seeds, paneer, yogurt and so on are some of the food items, which are rich in protein.

Besides, the protein helps in controlling the hunger hormone called ghrelin. A study conducted in women revealed that around 441 calories could be reduced when their protein intake was increased from 15 to 30%. Another research showed that acquiring 25% of protein that is required in a day from breakfast could ease the hunger pangs and the urge to munch on unhealthy snacks by 60%.

Eggs, seafood, chicken and milk products are amazing sources of protein that could be included in the breakfast.

Scrambled eggs cooked in olive oil or coconut oil with fresh veggies, cottage cheese or spinach is an amazing breakfast dish. Greek yoghurt with berries and seeds is filling meal. A protein shake made with almonds, berries and bananas could be enjoyed as a delicious and easy breakfast.
