Hot idlis or crispy dosas, with a side of flavourful sambar, all for just ₹10. In this inflationary economy? Sounds too good to be true? Not in Kollam. Whether you're a regular commuter or a visitor to this Kerala city, this budget-friendly breakfast is a warm, welcome start to your day.
No need to hunt for affordable options anymore. Just head to the Chinnakada bus bay in the morning, where Good Morning Kollam is serving up simple, satisfying meals that don’t weigh down your wallet. A plate of idlis usually costs ₹30 or more in most Kerala restaurants—but here, you get a full breakfast for just ₹10. Don’t feel like idlis? Dosa and sambar are on the menu too—equally light on the stomach and the budget.
This initiative, run by the Kollam Corporation, is part of a mission to ensure no one in the city starts their day hungry. The meals are prepared and served by a Kudumbashree unit, with arrangements made to feed up to 300 people in this initial phase. Good Morning Kollam officially began service on Monday and has already become a much-loved morning stop.
With ₹20 lakh allocated for the project, Kollam Corporation is setting a strong example in people-first governance—serving dignity and good food, one plate at a time.
