Raw papaya laddo

Festivals in India aren’t complete without sharing and enjoying traditional sweets and desserts. This Festive season, try this interesting recipe of raw papaya laddoo.


2 cups raw papaya (finely grated)
1 ½ cups milk
¼ cup semolina
4 tbsp ghee
½ cup of sugar
½ tsp cardamom powder
10 raisins


Heat ghee in a pan and fry the raisins
Into the same pan add the grated papaya
Sauté well
Now, add milk and sugar 
Stir well and allow this to boil
Add cardamom powder and semolina
Stir continuously
Meanwhile, keep adding the ghee (you could add up to 3 tbsp)
Stir until the mixture thickens up and separates from the pan
Allow this mixture to cool down
Scoop lemon sized balls and roll in your palms into laddoos
Now roll the laddoos in desiccated coconut
Place a fried raisin each on the laddoo to garnish
Enjoy the raw papaya laddoo.
