Ingredients
¼ cup green gram
2 cups grated raw papaya
½ grated coconut
½ tsp turmeric
4 shallots
2 cloves garlic
4 green chilli
Salt, as required
2 tbsp coconut oil
½ tsp mustard seeds
¼ tsp jeera
1 sprig curry leaves
Preparation
Cook the green gram and keep aside
Grind together the coconut, turmeric, shallots, garlic, chillies and salt to form a coarse paste
Heat oil in a pan, add the mustard and jeera and sauté
To this, add the curry leaves and the ground mixture and sauté again until the raw smell goes away
Add the green gram followed by the grated papaya to the centre of the mixture
Cover with a lid and slow cook on low fire
