Shortbread cookies

Shortbread cookies are famous for their crumbly and rich texture, and are among the best loved cookies. Let's bake some in our own kitchens.
Ingredients
1 cup salt less butter, softened
½ cup icing sugar
¼ cup corn flour
1 ½ cups white flour
1 tsp salt
½ tsp lemon peel (scraped) / vanilla essence
Preparation
Pre heat oven to 350¦F
Soften the butter, beating it in a mixer for about 15 minutes
To the butter, add white flour, icing sugar and corn flour, and beat at low speed for a minute and thereafter at high speed for 4 minutes
Arrange cookies (each of about 2 spoonfuls) on baking tray and bake for about 12 minutes till the edges turn brown and crisp
Remove from oven, cool and store in air tight containers
