It is no big secret that superstar Mohanlal is a great foodie who loves to cook amazing dishes too. After trying the French technique of flambé, the screen icon has posted another video of him making the perfect fish fry. Mohanlal marinates a fillet of barramundi with flavoursome local masala and deep-fries in hot oil. Interestingly, it was from his close friend Priyadarshan’s mother that Mohanlal picked up this special recipe of fried fish.
“Usually, whenever I eat a delicious dish at a home, I make sure to ask them about the recipe and ingredients. I get these recipes so that I could cook it for myself or someone else. Food is like that, right? You would enjoy the dish more when someone else is also eating it with happiness.” Mohanlal is heard saying in the video.
Here is the recipe of the special fish fry that Mohanlal prepares in the video.
3 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp pepper powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp asafetida powder
1 tsp ginger-garlic (optional)
Salt to taste
Mix the ingredients into a masala paste by adding some water
It shouldn’t be too runny
Marinate the cleaned barramundi fillet with this paste
Keep the marinated fish in the fridge for 20 minutes
Or you could keep at room temperature for 45 minutes
Heat coconut oil in a frying pan
Add some curry leaves for flavour
Now place the marinated fish on the bed of curry leaves
Flip and cook
Enjoy the special barramundi fry.
