Kashi halwa a yummy halwa which is quite famous among the sweet lovers in Tamil Nadu is an easy to prepare delicious sweet.
650 gram ash gourd
200 gram sugar
¼ tsp of cardamom powder
½ tsp of beetroot juice (optional)
Or put a pinch of saffron flower in the water and this water can be used instead
¼ cup of nuts
3 tbsp of ghee
Peel an ash gourd and grate it. Heat a teaspoon of ghee in a pan, roast the nuts in it and set aside
Put the ash gourd in the same ghee and cook till it becomes soft
Add sugar and mix well
Add beetroot juice or a teaspoon of saffron water and mix well
When the water in it dries, add cardamom paste and stir
Just before put out the fire, add a teaspoon of ghee and roasted nuts.
