Try cooking Kappa and Mathi together for the perfect flavour

Keralites vouch for the fabulous combination of spicy mathi or sardines curry and boiled kappa aka cassava. Instead of having them separately, it would taste amazing if sardines and cassava are cooked together. Moreover, it is incredibly easier to cook this dish. Check out the recipe.

Ingredients
¾ kg cassava
½ kg sardines
1 tsp turmeric powder
3 tsp chili powder
3 green chilies
1 piece ginger
2 tsp coconut oil
2 tamarind bulbs
Water as required
Salt as required
Curry leaves as required

Preparation
Take sardines, turmeric powder, chili powder, green chilies, ginger, curry leaves, tamarind bulbs, salt and 1 tsp coconut oil in an earthen vessel
Mix well
Pour enough water
Boil this mixture
Meanwhile, boil the cassava in another vessel
Add salt when the water in the cassava boils rapidly
Strain the boiled cassava
Separate the bones from the cooked sardines
Using a spatula, crumble and mix the sardines with the rest of the ingredients
Add boiled cassava into it
Give everything a good mix
Allow this mixture to cook for 2 minutes
Add curry leaves and 1 tsp coconut oil
Mix well
Delicious cassava and sardines are ready!
