Lately, nirvana dishes have become incredibly popular on the social media and people have been trying them at home too. Let's try giving it a vegetarian twist. Check out the easy recipe of colocasia aka chembu nirvana cooked in thick and creamy coconut milk.
Ingredients
½ kg colocasia
2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder
1 tsp pepper powder
4 tbsp coconut
2 tsp salt
Thick coconut milk
2 green chilies
2 tsp ginger slices
2 tsp raw mango pieces
1 sprig curry leaves
1 tsp garam masala
1 plantain leaf
Preparation
Mix chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt and Kashmiri chilli powder in oil to make a paste
Add cooked colocasia pieces into this marinade paste
Heat coconut oil in a pan
Fry the marinated colocasia pieces
Meanwhile, place the plantain leaf in an earthen vessel
Add the fried colocasia along with ginger, raw mango, pepper powder, chilli powder, curry leaves, a pinch of salt and thick coconut milk
Cook on low flame until the sauce thickens
Delicious and buttery colocasia nirvana is ready.
