Rich and creamy, this classic chicken mughalai is a flavour bomb

Chicken mughalai is a classic north Indian dish that is loaded with flavours. The aromatic masala is what makes this dish extra special. The dish would taste the best if the chicken is of good quality. Check out the recipe.

Ingredients
1 kg chicken
2 onions
1 tbsp ginger – garlic paste
1 tomato
2 green chillies
½ cup yoghurt
10 cashews
1 cinnamon, clove, cardamom pod, star anise
2 tsp chili powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
2 ½ tsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin powder
¾ tsp garam masala
½ tsp pepper powder
1 tsp dried fenugreek leaves
Coriander leaves
Salt as required
2 tsp ghee

Preparation
Marinate the chicken pieces with salt, turmeric powder and pepper powder
Keep aside for half an hour
Heat ghee in a pan
Add the whole spices, ginger – garlic paste and onions
Sauté well
Into it add the marinated chicken pieces
Mix well
Now add chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala and salt
Sauté until the raw smell of the powders is gone
Add tomato puree and green chillies
Close the lid and cook
When the gravy is almost done, add yoghurt and cashew paste
Give everything a good mix
Cook for ten more minutes
Finally sprinkle dried fenugreek leaves and coriander leaves
