Puttu is a classic Kerala breakfast dish that can be enjoyed with flavoursome Bengal gram or chickpea curry, sweet bananas or even with ripe jackfruit. Many in the state also love to pair it with various non-vegetarian curries and even fleshy fruits like mango, custard apple, papaya and more.

Here is how to prepare super soft puttu without adding even an ounce of water.

Ingredients
2 cups wheat powder
2 ripe mangoes
Salt as required
1 cup grated coconut

Preparation
Take the wheat powder, salt and mango pieces in the small mixer jar
Crumble them on pulse mode
Add this powder and a grated coconut in alternate layers in the puttu mould
Cook the puttu until it is soft
This puttu would be softer even after it cools down. Since ripe mangoes are added, you can enjoy this even without a curry.
