Fish lovers vow that nothing can beat the perfectly spicy Kerala style fish curry. The gravy made with ginger, garlic and other masala that are nicely sauteed in coconut oil grants a unique aroma and flavour to the curry. Here is how to make Kerala fish curry easily at home.

Ingredients
Any fish (sardines have been used in this recipe)
1 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
1 tsp pepper powder
1 tbsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp fenugreek powder
1 tomato
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp garlic
Malabar tamarind
Salt as required

Preparation
Add Kashmiri chili powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, fenugreek powder and water as required in an earthen chatty or vessel
Mix well
Into it add crushed ginger and garlic, tomato, Malabar tamarind and salt
Turn on the flame
Allow the gravy to cook for 2 – 3 minutes
Now add the fish pieces
When the fish is nicely cooked, add curry leaves
Sprinkle some fresh coconut oil too
Rotate the vessel to mix everything
Turn off the flame when the gravy thickens
Delicious Kerala style fish curry is ready; this curry tastes amazing with boiled tapioca.
