Those of us who love 'thattukada' food would definitely have memories of savouring delicously hot mutta bajjis, accompanied by piping hot teas, as you enjoy an evening drizzle under the street-side eatery's humble shade.

Did you know that you can easily make the bajji at home too, to relish an afternoon rain? Even kids who say no to boiled egg will relish this snack one after the other like nobody's business. Here's the easy recipe:

Ingredients
6 eggs, boiled and sliced
3/4 cup gram flour
1/4 cup rice flour
3/4 teaspoon chilli powder
2 pinches of turmeric powder
2 pinches of asafoetida powder
1/2 pinch of baking soda (optional)
Oil to fry
Salt

Preparation
Make a thick batter out of all the flours, powders and baking soda
Boil oil in a frying pan
Sprinkle some pepper on boiled eggs
Dip them in the batter and fry in the oil, one at a time
You can have it with ketch-up or chutney
