Chakka puttu: A yummy, comforting breakfast for the monsoon season

Wondering what to do with all the leftover chakkapazham aka ripe jackfruit at home? It’s time to convert them into dishes even jackfruit haters will love. And one of the easiest among them is the yummy chakka puttu, that doesn’t even demand a curry to win your heart. Prepare a warm, aromatic and healthy breakfast following this recipe.

Ingredients
1.5 cup puttu powder
10 ripe jackfruit bulbs
1 cup scraped coconut
Salt

Preparation
Grind 8 jackfruit bulbs into a paste
Mix it with the puttu powder little by little, but the powder should retain its grainy texture
(There is no need of adding any water)
Dice the other two jackfruit bulbs into small pieces
Mix it with coconut and add a spoon of it at the bottom of the puttu steamer
Now fill the rest of the steamer with the puttu powder - jackfruit mix
Steam it for five to ten minutes
You can enjoy chakka puttu without any curries
