Idli podi masala: A unique dish made with leftover idli

This is a tasty evening snack that could be easily made using leftover idlis from breakfast. The sautéed onions and masala pack the dish with flavours, making it a perfect combination with hot tea or coffee. Here is the pretty simple recipe of idli podi masala.

Ingredients
Leftover idli (cut into small pieces)
2 onions
Shallots
Green chili
1 small piece ginger
Coconut oil as required
Palm full of urad dal
¼ tsp mustard seeds
Salt as required
Curry leaves
¼ tbsp Kashmiri chili powder
¼ tbsp turmeric powder
¼ tbsp garam masala
A pinch of pepper powder

Preparation
Heat coconut oil in a pan
Splutter mustard seeds and urad dal
Sauté finely chopped onions, shallots, green chili and ginger
Add curry leaves and salt as required
Into it add Kashmiri chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and pepper powder
Sauté until the masala turns aromatic
Now add the idli pieces
Mix well
The idli would get cooked in this masala mix, absorbing all the flavours
Delicious idli podi masala is ready.
