Flaxseed or linseed, a plant-based food, boasts many health benefits. It is high in protein, omega-3 fatty acids, cancer-fighting lignans and fibres that aid in digestion. It looks similar to horse gram and can be used in numerous ways. Here's a simple recipe that helps you to derive maximum benefit from flaxseed:

Ingredients
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon water
200 grams flaxseed

Preparation
Pour two tablespoons of water into a small bowl
Add ½ teaspoon of salt to it and let it dissolve
Put a thick vessel on the gas stove and put flaxseed into it
Pour salt water onto the flaxseed
Mix well
Flaxseed will break in 6-7 minutes with a spluttering sound, indicating that it’s ready
Remove from the burner and once the seeds turn lukewarm, store it in a bottle to consume for many days
It can be eaten as it is and also added to salads and laddus
